The White-throated Magpie Jay (Calocitta formosa) was another abundant bird throughout most Pacific lowland sites in Nicaragua. This one was in Ometepe at Finca del Sol. I wish all birds were like these jays, which seem to have a strong sense of curiosity, almost always flying in to check out any human who walks through their territory. They make a variety of vocalizations, there were many occasions when I thought I was hearing something new and exotic and it turned out to be another of these. My idea of what a "mockingjay" would look like.
