Space Shuttle: 20 Years "Yellow submarine" page

Ellen Ochoa was a presenter at the SXSW Health and MedTech Expo, specifically talking about "Keeping astronauts healthy in space." When I got the OK to send my book for her signature, it took some scrambling, as it was a last minute approval. I chose this page for the depiction of Ochoa playing the flute on her first of four shuttle missions.

Ochoa is now the director of the Johnson Space Center, the first Hispanic director (and first Hispanic female astronaut), and the second female director of that center.

I had missed Ochoa during one of the NASA Tweetups/Socials in Washington, DC. She wasn't a participant at the event, but had stopped in the deli next door (along with Kennedy Space Center director Robert Cabana.) So adding her to my book was most welcome. 16 Mar. 2015, Austin, Tx.
