(27) Teeth- Lady Gaga

I just recently discovered that, about a year or so ago, Lady Gaga did an interview with MTV about the story or meanings behind her songs on the Fame Monster. After which those clips, it made me respect her even more than I already did. And I had A LOT of respect already, so I was surprised that i could gain even more :)

So according to the video, Teeth has 2 connotations: Sex and Fear of the Truth. The interesting thing was that a couple months back, my friend Meg and I had a long conversation about how the meaning of this song was about finding truth through sex. I thought she had perceived this on her own and was extremely impressed, but now I think she saw the videos before I did. :P
Anywho, my interpretation of 'Teeth' is not as intense as "sex and fear of the truth". My struggle is I easily fall into the trap of constantly feeling like I need to be reassured by people (or sometimes, a certain person). And sometimes I will portray myself in the wrong light to gain that reassurance. And I always know, deep down, that the attention I gain is never satisfying and it's REALLY wrong, but I become so self-conscious without it. I guess the parallel the 'Sex' in 'Teeth' is my immoral portrayals. (I feel like I didn't word that, but I hope I'm making a little bit of sense :( )
My 'Fear of the Truth' is my conscious telling me that my "portrayals" are not right and they don't strength my relationship with God. I know everything I do should be for Him, but sometimes I get so caught up in my own fears and worries that I turn my back on the One who truly loves me for me, not for some facade I create.
