Extraction fixture #4
This was an attempt to unscrew the end piece of the Shimano Capreo cassette body. The business is hidden, but suffice it to say the cassette body has a partial cassette stack slid onto it. The part I want to unscrew has a smooth cylindrical surface that is 22mm in diameter. I am clamping that 22mm surface with a 5C collet in my lathe collet chuck. My 5C collet is 7/8", which is 22.22mm. I filled the gap with shim stock. In this fixture I blocked chuck rotation with the chuck key, and turned the cassette body with a chain whip. This fixture failed. The part slid in the collet.
