Extraction method
The captain seatpost was the most difficult part of the strip-down effort. It was rusted in place and my extraction attempt destroyed the top stub of the post. In this photo, I've threaded the inside of the seat post to 3/4" course. I threaded this bolt into the stub and that allowed me to grab the stub a lot more forcefully, and managed to break it free. A new captain seatpost was needed anyway, so I can get the seat high enough for my own 75.5cm saddle height.
