EASTERN COUNTIES 805 (N887FVF) COLTISHALL 240504a
Before FirstGroup began a centrallised disposal policy, it seemed that individual companies were able to dispose of withdrawn vehicles themselves. In the case of Eastern Counties, this meant that large numbers of vehicles were sold to, and cut up by, Jordans of Coltishall. I made several visits there between 2002 and 2005. Jordans had two sites, one in the middle of the village from which they operated a car sales business, and a farm near the airfield that scrapped all manner of vehicles at the end of their lives. Whilst they are still in business, there are now no buses left at the airfield site, although I have seen a picture of a Bristol K taken at the back of the car sales site recently. Whilst there were other east anglian operators vehicles present, the vast majority were from Eastern Counties.
