The Mark II retained sliding windows and exterior door hinges. The Cooper S was to carry over to Mk.III specification, running until 1971.

The 1275 Cooper S had a torquey 76bhp engine and close ration gearbox, and equipment including twin fuel tanks, engine oil cooler and special drive shafts. They retained the wet suspension throughout though some have since been converted to dry suspension.

The Mk.II were badged as either Austin or Morris, but the Mk.III simply as Mini.
