1948 in the wake of draconian steel ratioing, saw the introduction of the V type, which featured a new cab styled by Sandbach coachbuilder John Henry Jennings. Later versions of this cab would be offered manufactured in steel by Willenhall. The V type a Lockeed continuous flow braking system, delivering full hydraulic air assisted braking.
