The Land Rover Defender was launched in 1990 remaining in production until 2016, introduced as replacement for the Land Rover 90 and 110. This was because in 1989 the company had introduced the Discovery model, requiring the original Land Rover to acquire a name.

 

This unique Defender was produced in 2015, based on a Defender TD XS Station Wagon, it was created near the end of the L316 production run. Renowned British fashion designer Paul Smith worked alongside Land Rovers Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) design team and Gerry McGovern, Land Rovers chief designer in the concept. The car features 27 different exterior colour chosen by Paul Smith. Paul also worked with Land Rover to created this Defenders unique interior and facia, using leather and special fabrics designed by Smith.

 

The vehicle is owned by JLR, and is now part of their Jaguar Land Rover Classic Heritage Vehicle Collection.
