MG X-power SV (Sports Veloce) After acquiring Qvale Automotive (Italy) and with a view to US sales plans to produce an MG based on the Qvale Mangusta were hatched. The 2001 prototype was deemed to be not aggressive enough designer Peter Stevans brought the design from clay to production in 300 days. at a base price of £ 75.000 to £ 82, 000 for the SV-R model. Assembled with UK carbon fibre body panels in Turin and shipped to Longbridge for trimming and finishing. Some parts came straight from Fiat, headlamps from the Punto Mk.2 rear lights from the Fiat Coupe. Powered by a 4600 cc V8 of 320 bhp the manual had a top speed of 165 mph. This car is registered as a 4998cc this would make it the SV-R version with a 32 valve engine of 385 bhp.
