The Jensen Interceptor is a grand touring car designed by Federico Formenti, which was hand-built, as an Anglo-American supercar, with a Vignale styled body with a Chrysler V8 engine and built in West Bromwich. With a modern looking steel body, designed by Carrozzeria Touring in Italy, early examples were built in Italy by Vignale, most had TorqueFlite automatic gearbox driving the rear wheels through a LSD Salisbury rear axle. Launched in 1966, the Mark II followed in 1969 and a Mark III in 1971

The car (Mark 1) was launched in 1966 specification included electric windows, reclining front seats, a wood rimmed steering wheel, radio with twin speakers, reversing lights and an electric clock. Power steering was included as standard from September 1968. Power came from a 383 cu in (6276cc) Chrysler Low Deck Big Block V8, with optional manual or TorqueFlite Automatic tranmission Since this engine was detuned by Chrysler for use with regular gasoline and only produced 250 hp.

In 1971 Jensen produced a SeriesII Interceptor with a Chrysler 440 cu in V8
