The first generation of the ord Transit Custom was unveiled at the 2012 Commercial Vehicle Show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England. Designed by Paul Canpbell only one engine option the 2.2-litre inline-four Duratorq turbodiesel with power optiond of 99, 123, or 152bhp was available between 2012 and 2016, replaced for 2017 by the 2.0-litre EcoBlue turbodiesel that was compliant with Euro 6 emissions standards and offered comparable output levels. An optional mild hybrid system was introduced to the EcoBlue engines in 2019.

 

The Transit Custom is smaller than the Mk.8 Transit and comes with two sizes, the 195.8in H1 and the 210 inch H2

 

The European Transit Custom is built by Ford Otosan in Turkey, with further production in China and Vietnam.

 

Production of a second generation is schedualed for later in 2023, again built at Ford Otosan with the Volkswagen T7 Transporter schedualed for 2024 as a sibling of the second generation Transit Custom
