The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud is a luxury automobile produced by Rolls-Royce Limited from April 1955 to March 1966 replacing the Rolls Royce Silver Dawn in the Rolls Royce line up.. It was the core model of the Rolls-Royce range during that period. Designed by J. P. Blatchley the design represented a major change over the Silver Dawn, with the rationalisation of the Rolls - Bentley models its Bentley sister car was the Bentley S1. The first Silver Clouds were powered by a 4.9 litre (300 cu in)S6 engine mated to a 4 speed GM Hydramatic automatic transmission.

The Silver Cloud was updated as the Silver Cloud IIin 1959. Externally the cars are very similar but were now powered by a 6230cc (380 cu in) V8 engine, a first for Rolls Royce, which pushed the weight to 2.11 tonnes. Performance was greatly improved and top speed was raised to 115mph. The basic architecture of the Silver Cloud II did not change between 1959 and 1963, but rolling on going improvements included changes to the vetilation system A remodelled rear light assembly was introduced in May 1962 and a change to single sealed-beam headlamps was made in August 1962

The Silver Cloud II was superceeded by a Silver Cloud III for model years 1963-66
