This Mack Bulldog Truck was handbuilt by Mack Trucks to Alaskan spec, with added extras, for Charles Mathews Limited of Ontario, Canada, a company run by founder Charles Mathews who were in the business of house moving, as in the whole house. The Truck hardly if ever ventured more than 60 miles from its from its base. Powered by an 11 litre straight six turbo and supercharged engine, it has double drive with diff locks and cross locks, 40 forward and 16 reverse gears and is fitted with two winches and has an adjustable hydraulic five inch flywheel. It retains its original livery and was said to be capable of hauling 180 tons with ease.
When imported to England the truck had suffered significant damage after a nine foot high snow drift had caused the building in which it was stored to collapse crushing half of the cab roof. Restoration commenced in 2016, the old cab was removed and a complete half cab was welded in place and resprayed, spares had been sourced by its original owner, Charles Mathews, and restoration was finally completed.
