Very similar to the previous 18/80 Mk.1 the car now sits on a wider 52 inch track allowing for more passenger space, and with larger 14 inch brakes, a revised rocker cover breather, a slightly lower final drive and a four speed gearbox.
Mark 1 and 2 production overlapped. In 1930 MG introduced a Mk.2 Speed model which was actually a Mark 1 chassis with Dewandre servo brake, an outside hand brake and cutaway drivers door.
NV 2596
Was built in 1932 and supplied in chassis form to University Motors, It was fitted with a drop head coupe body by the Carlton Carriage Company and first registered in May 1933.
It quickly changed hands to a second owner Mr Bill Jones in 1934 and it remained in the same family until 2011. when it was acquired by its current owner, who spent two years on a total restoration
