Designed by Harley Earl were based on the GM Series 62 C body platform. With more chrome and dual head lights. and subject to year on year changes.

For 1959 the Cadillac sprouted huge sharp tailfins with dual bullet tail lights, two distinctive rooflines and roof pillar configurations, new jewel-like grille patterns and matching deck lid beauty panels. All Eldorados were characterized by a three-deck, jeweled, rear grille insert, but other trim and equipment features varied. The Seville and Biarritz models had the Eldorado name spelled out behind the front wheel opening and featured broad, full-length body sill highlights that curved over the rear fender profile and back along the upper beltline region. Engine output from the 390 cu in (6400cc) engine rose to an even 345bhp Standard equipment included power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, via a 4 speed Hydra-Matic

The somewhat scruffy hood of this car is intentially original and part of the cars story. Now owned by Dave Neil of Trofarth North Wales, the car starred in the 1989 Clint Eastwood film Pink Cadillac, and retains the under chassis brackets used to mount the cameras, the hood (not the bonnet) retains the tears caused in the film by the car wash
