First Toyota sold in Great Britain. and the third generation Toyota Corona introduced to coincide with the Tokyo 1964 Summer Olympics.and available as a Saloon, 2 door Hardtop, 3 and 5 door Estates, pickup and 5 door Hatchback. The new Corona was designed by partially Battista Farina and powered by petrolengines of 1.3, 1.5, 1.6or 1.9 litres. The Corona was the first Toyota assembled in New Zealand, from February 1967 and by Shinjin Motor in South Korea from 1966. South African assemblies commenced in 1966, with the car reaching a fifteenth position on the 1967 sales charts
