Styled by Walter Belgrove with a slab sided body, the Vanguard was Standards first post WW2 car, intended for export, its name draws on wartime, and is called after HMS Vanguard, Brittains last Battleship launched in 1944 The tough six seaters, with a styling nod towards the contemporary Plymouths, with wet liner engine, all syncromesh three speed gearbox, hydraulic brakes, coil independant front suspension and a separate chassis. The engine was essentially the same as that made by Standard for the Ferguson tractor, with some changes for automobile use.

Convertibles by Imperia available in Belgium only.
