TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLE ALBUM

Launched at the 1937 London Motorcycle Show, with an Edward Turner designed Vee Twin, earlier vertical twins had suffered from excess bulk, Turner's was lighter and narrower across the crankcase than the contemporary single-cylinder Tiger 90, whose cycle parts it shared, and it proved a design that would lift Triumph out of its economic doldrums.

With an overall weight of 355 lbs (dry) and an engine output of 26bhp the road going version returned a top speed of 85 mph for the Speed Twin with 100mph attainable from the Tiger 100
