Larger version of the Farina family introduced as the A99 (1959-61) and also available as a Wolseley or Vanden Plas. With servo assisted front disc brakes, and with Overdrive and Automatic options
The A110 replaced the A99 in 1961 with the same engine but on a longer wheelbase improving road holding and four speed transmission as standard replacing the previous models three speed. Power steering from 1962. The A110 had an 2 inch extended wheelbase, over the outgoing A99, increasing space in the rear luggage compartment and inproving road holding, along with 13 inch wheels from 1964
Wolseley produced a 6/110 version, and there was a Vanden Plas Princess Mark II with the same C-Series engine, now uprated to 120 hp (89 kW). The same basic body was also used for a Rolls Royce-engined Vanden Plas Princess 4 Litre R, and the body even formed part of a prototype Bentley.
Both the Westminster and its Wolseley cousin were popular choices as Police squad cars.
Finally superceeded by the Austin 3 litre
Many thanks for a fantabulous
