Introduced in 1955 by GMC aalongside the Chevrolet Task Force Series as the Blue Chip Series the dual series introduced a new body style with wrap around windshield, a first in the truck industry and optional wrap-around rear window on Deluxe cabs. Power steering and power brakes became available for the first time on GM trucks. Electrical system upgraded to 12 volts. Beds are 6.5 ft (2.0 m) and 7.5 ft (2.3 m).
