The Mk.II Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac models were launched in 1956, lower and longer than the earlier model, with wheelbase incresed by 3 inches to 107 inches overall and width increased to 69 inches, with more Trans Atlantic styling than the rounder Mark.i
The Zephyr and Zodiac models were powered by a larger 25553cc six cylinder engine with a poweer output of 86bhp and top speed to 88mph, driving through a column change three speed gearbox, with an optional DG Borg Warner three speed Automatic.
The model was updated late in 1959 as the Lowline model, with reduced a reduced roof height and a chrome windscreen surround. Earlier models were referred to in retrospect as Highline models.
This Mk.II is a rare Estate version bodied by Abbott of Farnham and has an overdrive gearbox, many were seconded to the new Motorway Squad Car Police Forces
