Successor to the Advance Design pick up the Task Force series ran from late 1955-59 featuring a wraparound windshield (an industry first) and optional wraparound rear window on the deluxe cabs. Power steering and brakes available for the first time on GM trucks and a 12 volt electrical system. Power supplied by a 235 Ci straight six.
The Task Force series like other GM vehicles was subject to year on year changes. For 1956 there was a wider hood emblem Two-piece fender emblems are mounted above horizontal fender line. Last year for egg crate grille.
The 1957 model had a more open grille, the bonnet was flatter with two spears on top, simular to the 57 Bel Air ender emblems are still above fender line, but are now oval-shaped, as opposed to previous versions in script.
