Bodmin Railway Steam hauled permanent way train at Bodmin Parkway.
The permanent way train is usually diesel hauled but on Thursday 17th October, 2 ex GWR Prairie tank locomotives were in steam,5553 was on the service train and 5552 was being utilised by a sound recording company that had been commissioned by a model railway company to record sounds for a forthcoming model Prairie tank locomotive that was being produced. When the recording duties had been fulfilled 5552 was used for the permanent way train and is seen here at Bodmin Parkway shunting in the storages siding with guard Graham Pring in charge, running round in the branch platform and running the train back up the branch and I was lucky enough to get a ride on the footplate. Driver on the day was David Nelson Brown and the fireman Will Dingle.
