Unapologetic Graffiti
I was at the South Side Irish Parade in March. I saw this on the wall in a bar called Cork & Kerry. I have no problem whatsoever with gay people. But just the same it was refreshing to see some unapologetic old-school graffiti.
We live in a world now where everyone is always being called a racist, sexist, homophobe, Islamophobe, etc. for committing the smallest deviation from the politically correct narrative. Recently I read about some State of Illinois worker getting fired for emailing negative comments to someone else about Obama.
The media called it racist, but from the quotes I saw he just didn't like Obama. It is getting to the point where minorities use any excuse to call white people bigots as a means to get what they want. That is every bit as racist as a couple white cops in Alabama who decide they are going to go out and find some black guys to put in jail on a given night no matter what.
If you're inclined to give me trouble for that view: my dad is Jewish. We had relatives killed in the ovens by Nazis in World War II. So I am well-acquainted with what real hate is. Most of these "social justice" types in the U.S. today are purely motivated by a desire for power.
There are hundreds of thousands of modern-day slaves in Africa today, as we speak. But I don't see Jesse Jackson running over there to try and help them. That's because there is no money in it for him. He and his buddies, like Bobby Rush, would rather stay in the U.S. and talk profitable trash.
Someone who went to Africa today to fight the serious issues of slavery there would earn my respect. Such a person would be putting themselves in personal jeopardy to advance a real cause. That's what Martin Luther King Jr. did.
Staging a fake hate crime in the City of Chicago (huge Democratic city) and then lying about it, on the other hand, is a pathetic matter of pure cowardice.
I grew up in Evanston (very racially diverse town). I had black friends growing up. I voted for Democrats, including Obama, because I felt Republicans in the late 90's, early 2000's were out of control (financial crisis, Enron's manipulation of energy markets, etc.)
But now it is the Democrats who are out of control. If they get the socialist extreme left system of government they want it will ruin the country, and I will be posting Flickr updates from somewhere in Europe.
I'm sure America isn't perfect for minorities. But we've now had minority Senators, Congressmen/women, governors, mayors, sports stars, movie stars, and a two-term minority President. The world is always competitive. But there is plenty of opportunity in this country for everyone.
Saying Trump is a bigot while the Democratic Party tolerates genuine Anti-Semitic racism from people in Congress, like Ilhan Omar, so they can get votes is the pinnacle of hypocrisy.
