Atlantis Fritillary (Speyeria atlantis) and friend

Hello Everyone!

I chose an archived image with a splash of colour to end the week! The Atlantis Fritillary is known for its blue-grey eye and the broad black band on the hindwing margins. They can be found in woodland habitats. I spotted this butterfly in cottage country where the cottage owner had placed a pot of marigolds near the road. A treat to have the Atlantis fly in for its nectar as I walked by! You'll see another visitor there too!

Enjoy the day and weekend ahead! Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I truly appreciate hearing from you!
