Berkeley's Green Faerie Farm
Across the Bay, Berkeley's 6,000 square foot Green Faerie Farm has a number of animals, a rarity among most urban farms because of restrictive municipal laws. But in Berkeley, where pretty much everything is acceptable, this farm has chicken, rabbits, ducks, goats, and even pigeons.
Down the street in West Oakland, the City Slicker Farm has a social mission for the sale of its vegetables and seeds. By enforcing a sliding price scale, the Farm makes sure that everyone only pays as much as he or she can afford.
