Marine Iguana enjoys the view
Having tracked down my Galapagos shots from an old hard drive, I'm enjoying the trip all over again by discovering forgotten and overlooked images.
Described as "hideous-looking", "stupid" and "sluggish" by Charles Darwin, these Marine Iguanas on Espanola Island are spectacularly colourful, especially in the breeding season.
This one looks as though he's posing for the camera, but in fact - like virtually all the wildlife in the Galapagos - he seemed sublimely indifferent to all human activity ...
