Meral Super Randonneur

Not much of a racing bicycle - but still a classic vintage lightweight.

My trusted French touring bike. We have spent so many kilometers together that it has become a part of me.

Bought as a frame in the early 80-ies and then built with Huret Duopar (titane) TA and Mafac parts. Unfortunately I did not buy the original panniers/racks that was available for this frame at the time. Yes....I was not very wise......I know....

Somewhere in the late 80-ies/early 90-ies I changed it to various Campagnolo parts from different time periods.

Seatpost: Super Record

Cranks, Euclid

Derailleurs: Centaur rear (the old group) , Euclid front

Hubs: Record high flange 40 spoke

Shifters: Record bar ends

Brakes: Record OR, rear and Record nomal reach on drop bolt in front. Super Record levers

Headset: Super Record

The racks are Blackburn. I made my own rear lowrider out of a front Blackburn - using only one straight chromemoly rod as "extra" nothing else is modyfied. Has worked perfectly over the years.

Paint and luglining was made by myself at the change to Campagnolo. It is an AUDI colour called "ragusa" - dark green metallic. It has deterioated over the years and developed some form of "spider web" look when looking from certain angles.
