Guardians of the Lake
A lone hoodoo and a two boulders frame Padre Bay in Lake Powell and the sandstone monoliths beyond, including Dominguez and Boundary Buttes (thanks, Bill).
Author David Roberts called Lake Powell a 'beautiful abomination', and while that neatly encompasses opposing viewpoints to the Lake, the fact remains that it's here and will not be going away anytime soon. So why not explore part of the Colorado Plateau that can only feasibly be accessed from the shore? And that is exactly what Peter Böhringer had in mind when he arranged a houseboat/kayak photography tour of the lake, which included Henk Meijer (Floydian), Bill Bowman, Jen Hall-Bowman (moment's notice), Steve Semper, Erik and myself. For the better part of 5 days, we had a good adventure and a lot of fun! Thank you for allowing me to join you, Peter.
