Face to face with the Ortler (3905 m)

This mountain was, until the end of WW 1, the highest peak in the entire Austro-Hungarian Empire.Here one sees the east face rising above the valley of Sulden, now in South Tyrol, Italy. Photo taken on August 28th, 2018 on the way to Düsseldorfer Hütte / Rifugio Serristori.
