Colca Valley of Peru

This picture captures the essence of the Colca Valley of Peru, a pinnacle destination on our dream honeymoon through Peru that was organized for us by Explorations, Ltd. This pictures shows the incredible vastness of the area – looking out over the Colca Valley as we neared the Colca Canyon, my husband and I were struck not only by the amazing beauty but also by the spirituality of the moment: the way the light struck the terraces that have been present for centuries; the boldness of the green against the sterility of the stone; the dance of the water through the base of the Valley. We couldn’t have imagined a more ideal place to spend our honeymoon. We were constantly awed by the mystical nature of Peru – up on that ridge, my husband and I felt like we had the Valley all to ourselves.
