The Kings Plight
Presently, 14 of 23 (61%) vulture species worldwide are threatened with extinction, and the most rapid declines have occurred in the vulture-rich regions of Asia and Africa. The American counterpart are doing relatively ok in part because of some strict regulations and more awareness. We need them more than they need us, as a decline in scavengers has been linked to increased disease locally.
