Finally Spring

Now it feels like spring. The weather is warmer, you have foggy mornings. One of the smallest of warblers the Northern Parula, is happy to sing away looking for love and marking it's territory. The light was horrible at this location and shooting at F4 made focus a bit tricky.

Northern Parula populations seem to be stable, and experienced a small increase between 1966 and 2014, according to the North American Breeding Bird Survey. Partners in Flight estimates a global breeding population of 13 million with 73% spending part of the year in the U.S., 56% in Mexico, and 27% breeding in Canada. Hopefully this guy will continue to return to this location for years to come.
