Feathery Finesse

After an ok day of photography we were ready to call it a day and go back, when all of a sudden we spotted the unmistakable shape of an owl. It was a Great Horned sitting on top of a utility pole, with a heavily over cast sky over him, there was not much of a photo op.

As we sat admiring him he flew into a relatively close by tree full of Spanish moss. At first we could not point it out realizing just how good there camouflage it. Finally when we did find it, and this boy did not disappoint. They are found in deserts, wetlands, forests, grasslands, backyards, cities, and almost any other semi-open habitat between the Arctic and the tropics.
