The forbidden fruit

Lions are generally considered land animals. They are too bulky for climbing trees. That does not mean they don't. This behavior was very common in Namibia , whose lions were famous for this.

We found six lions in the Serengeti, that had climbed up this Sausage tree. Whether they did this to keep a look out, sit in the shade or simply to get away from the biting horde of insect remains unclear. One thing is for sure you can not climb a tree to get away from lions.
