Shades of Pink
A Roseate Spoonbill Stretches it's wings at just the right time, as the sun peaks through the clouds. They are part of the Ibis and spoon bill family. Like the flamingo's there color is diet derived, and gets more striking with age. They have to be one of the most prehistoric looking birds along with the Wood storks of Florida. Imaged here is a juvenile Spoonbill foraging for food in the tidal pools of J.N Ding Darling.
