Photo #3: Wendy’s Green & Gold CSU Flag in front of building

This photo was taken Monday, November 30th, around 3:00 in the afternoon. The location of this Wendy’s is off of West Elizabeth Street in between cross streets Constitution and City Park in Fort Collins, Colorado. It is less than a mile away from Colorado State University’s campus, walking and biking distance for many students who live on the west side of campus. The flag hangs from a pole attached to the roof of the building in the front. It is very visible to traffic headed east and west. The flag has green and gold stripes with the ram logo in the corner. There is a flag hanging from both front corners of the building. This is another good example of how a nationwide cooperation can show local university pride in the community.

Again, representational meaning is shown. Symbolic structures, such as the flag with the ram logo on it, are a symbolic meaning for Colorado State University. Also when people see the color scheme of green and gold, displayed on the flag for instance, it denotes Colorado State, students, and fans, which also has interactive meaning. The relationship between the restaurant and the customer, giving the same ideas as stated in the first two photos, possibly providing a student special of some kind, or an inviting casual environment for students and fans to go to.

Again, compositional meaning and information value are portrayed with the placement of the flag on both sides of the building and in front, visible to all traffic, and above the entrance. You can’t miss the flags, unless there happens to be a Colorado blizzard, which can sometimes occur we know.
