Dutch Railways 1603 departs from Maastricht station with the 18.43 via Amsterdam to Zandfoort on the North Sea coast, May 1995.
I was here to photograph the 1950's USA Baldwin NS 1200's on these hourly services and was disappointed one was not on the point of this but again in the fullness of time all these Class 1600 have gone and this has become a valued image.
* The NS Class 1600 is a type of B' B' electric locomotive built by Alstom between 1980 and 1983 based on the SNCF Class BB 7200, and in use by the Dutch Railways since 1981. They were styled by the French industrial designer Paul Arzens.
