Liverpool Lime Street 'Cadbury Liveried Northern Electrics' 28/02/17.

The original but short lived 'Northern Electrics' livery was nicknamed 'Cadbury' I thought it sat well on the 319's.

The 'new' units were kept in clean condition by Allerton Depot, it was certainly a step up from the Sprinter era DMU's they replaced on the Manchester / Wigan / Preston and later Blackpool services.

On this particular evening I got three in line but by default ...

I think two of these units still exist, 377 is a ROG unit and 382 is the unique 799/2.

* I was indirectly involved in the Liverpool Lime Street cutting wall collapse back in the winter of 2017.

I passed the scene just beyond Edge Hill station fifteen minutes before the incident. I saw events unfold over half an hour when everything in and out of the terminus was stopped.

Question was, how to get home?

Lime Street Merseyrail station was closed as part of the on-going Wirral loop line upgrade, so I walked to Central and caught a train to Southport thence after a delay back to Wigan Wallgate. A short walk to Wigan North Western and a 319 EMU was in but going nowhere, all trains cancelled.

So Northern paid for a taxi to Bryn station to pick my car up, eventful evening!
