LSL had problems with the DVT in the Mk3 IC rake for the Intercity Railtours 'Friday Charter' and a welcome substitute was found in the form of 90001 ‘Royal Scot’ T&T with 86101 'Sir William A Stanier FRS.
A late platform change from 9 to 5 scuppered my planned running in shot but subsequently 90001 'Royal Scot' was positioned nicely to work the ecs back to Crewe.

Earlier in the day 90001 did a 98.75 minute run from Crewe to Euston, averaging 96.0 mph. Comfortably ahead of the quickest Crewe-Euston LHCS run the Railway Performance Society have on record of 100 mins 52 secs (which was also rocket-ship 90001 back in March 2004).
