The participants on the Great UK Railtours 'Cumbrian Lakelander' must have thought they had drawn the short straw weather- wise as they sped North up the WCML on Wednesday morning. Totally different story from Lancaster onwards though, as thick cloud gave way to clear Blue skies. Here at Cart Lane crossing in tranquil Kents Bank the conditions were as good as I have ever seen them.
