USAF Heritage Flight
A Lockheed Martin/Boeing F-22 Raptor and a Douglas A-1 Skyraider (The Proud American) on a heritage flight at the Abbotsford International Airshow, Abbotsford, B.C. The A-1 is a single seat attack aircraft that was in service from 1946 to 1980. It saw combat action in the Korean and Vietnam wars. In addition to the USAF, the A-1 was also used by the UK, Sweden, France and the Republic of Vietnam air forces. The F-22 is a modern stealth fighter that was developed in the late 1990's and came into service in 2005. It has seen combat service in the Middle East beginning in 2009.
