Wild Chicken on Kaua'i

These very pretty chickens are running all over the island. Story has it, that the Japanese brought fighting fighting chickens to the island of Kaua'ii, Hawaii, but a hurricane destroyed their cages along with the 'for eating' chickens. After mating the 2 kinds of chickens became a hybrid that were too tough to eat so they were left alone to thrive wildly.
