Rita Crane Photography: Cote D'Azur / village / boats / palm trees / twilight / View of Menton, French Riviera

This town is such a colorful fantasy land in this twilight hour just before night......Old Town Menton was for a long time a quiet little fishing village right next to the Italian border. It voted to become part of France in 1860. It's still the most peaceful town - with the least traffic and congestion - along the Cote D'Azur and feels very Italian. The old town that you see here is a pedestrian zone.

The basilica at night is lit up beautifully and truly glows. It is such a big part of this little hillside community and its towers are the main defining architectural features of Menton, when seen from a distance.
