Calendula flower

Attractive to bees, calendula also makes a good companion plant in a vegetable garden - useful for repelling tomato hornwoms and other pests. The plants can also be placed away from your vegetable garden, as it attracts aphids, caterpillars and a variety of other unwanted garden insects away from your food garden. Any flowering annual is also helpful in attracting bees and other pollinators to your vegetable plants.
