Pristionchus pacificus pharynx neurons
We've begun annotating the pharynx nervous system of the nematode Pristionchus pacificus as part of our effort to produce a wiring diagram showing all of the synaptic connections in the nervous system. This image is a 3D reconstruction showing parts of two neurons (yellow and green) as well as a large number of synapses (blue) that are associated with the yellow neuron. Already we see big differences between our nematode and the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans.
