The Long Stand
Long, long ago, in a land far, far away a young wide eyed photography student was walking down the college hallway when he was asked by a senior student to help out with a shoot some of the seniors were involved in. "Hello mate," said the senior. "we are all a bit busy setting up and we need one more long stand for this shot. Would you mind bringing us one?"
Excited to participate, the young student enthusiastically complied. He marched up to the store room counter and summoned the somewhat intimidating and bad tempered custodian of the equipment, Peter.
"Could I have a long stand please, Peter?" Peter eyed the student disdainfully but after a few moments he grunted "Alright then." Peter disappeared into the depths of the store room, leaving the young student standing alone for a very, very long time until he heard the sound of raucous senior laughter echoing down the hall...
