1974 Lotus-Ford 72E

Shown is a 1974 Lotus-Ford 72E Grand Prix Car.

It was driven in 1974 by Ronnie Peterson and Jacky Ickx. This car won three of the fifteen grands prix in the hands of the Peterson, the Swede ending the season fifth in the World Championship. Ickx ended the year tenth overall, two third-placed finishes being his best results. Lotus ended up fourth in the Constructors Championship behind McLaren, Ferrari and Tyrrell.

The Lotus 72 was first introduced in 1970 and was constantly updated and raced on into 1975. By that stage, the car was no longer able to compete with the opposition and was retired having won 20 of it's 75 Grands Prix, two drivers titles and three constructors crowns.
