Telford Clock in City centre

This is such a wonderful clock

Telford Shopping Centre's most striking feature is a giant clock above its central square. Called the Telford Time Machine, it weighs four tonnes, spans 16 m and incorporates a frog that winks and blows bubbles at passers-by.

The clock was designed by artist and writer Kit Williams, and adds a much-needed dash of colour to the 78,965 sq m (850,000 sq ft) centre. While attracting an average of 300,000 visitors a week, more than twice the population of Telford, the shopping centre's layout is increasingly seen as an obstacle to growth.
